How to know if in the text there's a past tense and present perfect tense?

If u wanna know past, u can see to be in the past (was/were)+noun or in the other pattern u can see the sentence use the verb 2, example : ate, went, etc.

But if present perfect tense, there is have/has followed by past participle, example : have jumped, has made
